THE WINNERS
The book version of the Alchemy puzzle was originally solved by Michael E. Houle from Newcastle (Australia) University. For his efforts he received the Philosopher's Scroll, mounted and framed, which now hangs in pride of place on his lounge room wall.
Since relaunching the Alchemy puzzle on the Internet I have received five correct solutions. The most outstanding of these was from Dave Lyndon of Portsmouth in the U.K. Dave sent me a well presented document detailing solutions to all the puzzles and pinpointing the location of the stone. For his efforts Dave is the winner of thegold amulet.
Four silver amulets have been awarded to:
Scott Purdy, Los Angeles, U.S.A.
Sandra Young, Herne Bay, U.K.
Jeff Crane, U.K.
Stephen Parkes, Nottingham, U.K.
A special mention goes to the Grand Clavister of N.Y.C. who came very close indeed and will be kicking himself when he sees the solution.
